Empowering
women through the ages and stages of life
Cynthia Vander Vere, LMT
Colorado Springs Massage Therapist
Hi. I’m Cynthia and I’m a licensed massage therapist in Colorado Springs and I’d love the opportunity to get to know you and serve you via Massage Therapy. I’ve been interested in massage for as long as I can remember. If you complained of your neck hurting or having a headache, I was the person who would come behind you and give you a massage (after asking for permission of course) and I was told that I was good at it too.
I have been a stay-at-home mom and home educator to my five children for the past 37 years. My husband and I adopted a baby (who is now 17) when my biological “baby” was 17 – so I’ve had children for a LONG time! They are all grown now…so I’ve started my career in massage and I must say: I love massage. There is so much to know about it and new scientific studies and advancements are happening all the time. It is a very exciting field of study and I LOVE to learn - so I am always taking continuing education courses - keeping up-to-date! Bottom line, though, is that I LOVE to make people feel better and the studies show that massage CAN help you.
I am a certified Fertility, Prenatal, and Postnatal massage therapist, as well as being certified in Medical Massage.
I have an office located in Colorado Springs.
I offer monthly promotions too, so take advantage of them and come on in. I’d love to be able to get to know and serve you.
Blessings.
“But I will restore you to health and heal your wounds,’ declares the LORD”

Also known as a good relaxation massage! Think of it as part of your self-care or health regime– keeping your body in the best of health by reducing anxiety and stress.
Hot Stone Massage
It’s a cold snowy day and you cuddle up by the fire with a bowl of your favorite soup in your lap and you bathe in the warmth. That is what a hot stone massage is like! AHH – nothing like it!!
Fertility Massage
Fertility massage gets a woman’s body in good health to promote fertilization and can help dissolve cysts, unblock fallopian tubes, and break up adhesions caused by endometriosis.
Prenatal Massage
Did you know that Pregnancy Massage reduces both labor time and pain and reduces the need for medication during labor? It also helps you to sleep better and soothes nerves.
Postnatal Massage
Postnatal Massage has so many benefits that the new mom needs, like relaxation, shrinking the uterus back into shape and lightening stretch marks which are only a few of the benefits.
Medical Massage
Medical massage is the application of a specific treatment targeted to the problems a patient presents with a diagnosis via a prescription from a doctor.
Deep Tissue Massage
Deep tissue massage is a type of Therapeutic massage which is a general term that describes any type of massage modality that helps relieve pain, reduce stress, and work on a specific problem. It focuses on the deepest layers of muscle tissue, tendons, and fascia.
Massage Benefits
Massage increases your circulation, which brings nutrients to your cells, thereby increasing your over-all health. It also increases your immune response, among many other benefits.
Hot Stone Massage Benefits
We are talking about the crème de la crème of massage therapy here! The therapist warms the muscles by completing Swedish Massage (relaxation) strokes with flat, smooth volcanic basalt rocks that retain heat for quite a while. The heat helps to relax the client and relieve tense muscles. Some benefits of hot stone massage are similar to any heat therapy – muscle tension and pain relief, increase in blood flow (which brings nutrients to the cells and removes toxins), increased range of motion and flexibility, muscle spasm reduction, and promotion of sleep.
Fertility Massage Benefits
I’ll teach you how to perform this massage on yourself. It takes two appointments. Fertility massage has many positive benefits that have been proven to help women conceive - even in women with unexplained infertility. Infertility in and of itself causes a lot of stress and fertility massage decreases stress which helps to improve hormonal balance, which can be one reason for infertility. It can also decrease menstrual cramps and increases circulation to the pelvis and reproductive organs, bringing vital nutrients needed to support fertilization. In addition, it can increase fertility and reproductive health by putting the reproductive organs into proper alignment. It cleanses the colon and uses reflexology to support the endocrine system as well as the reproductive system. Fertility massage for Dad can even increase sperm count! Who knew?
Prenatal Massage Benefits
Prenatal massage provides emotional support and nurturing touch –something women need during this beautiful time. Massage during this time helps to decrease stress by reducing the stress hormone cortisol. Prenatal Massage also decreases depression and anxiety, back, leg, and joint pain, muscle tension and headaches, and swelling in the hands and feet –all common in pregnancy. As though that isn’t enough, it promotes relaxation, stimulates the immune system, and improves circulation. Sciatica pain can be relieved through massage as well. Structurally, it improves your body awareness and promotes better posture, mobility, and freedom as well as preparing the muscles and joints used in childbirth.
Postnatal Massage Benefits
The emphasis on postnatal massage is on relaxation – decreasing tension. Your body has been under a lot of stress for nine months and you now have a child to take care of. Many uncertainties lie ahead and you are stressed in a different way – not to mention the hormonal changes that can have you laughing one minute and crying the next. So, although relaxation is the emphasis – postnatal massage does so much more. It boosts milk production, firms slack muscles, reduces fluid retention, increases flexibility to muscles and stretched nerves and like Prenatal Massage, it helps to decrease the stress hormone cortisol.
Medical Massage Benefits
The purpose of Medical Massage is to resolve conditions that have been diagnosed and prescribed by a physician. The massage therapist will focus the Medical Massage session on the areas of the body related to the diagnosis. The treatment is administered after a thorough assessment/evaluation by the medical massage therapist with outcomes (versus time) being the basis for the treatment. Medical Massage is typically billed in 15-minute increments and are usually paid in-full or in-part by insurance companies. Also, as a clinician, Medical Massage Therapists can not accept tips, but the cost for treatment does cost more.
Deep Tissue Massage Benefits
The focus of Deep Tissue Massage is on the deepest layers of muscle tissue, tendons and fascia (the protective layer surrounding muscles, bones, and joints). It is very effective in releasing chronic muscle tension, therefore, reducing chronic pain, as well as relieving strain and treating injuries in your tendons and your joints - increasing joint mobility. It also breaks down scar tissue and lowers high blood pressure to mention a few of the benefits.
